The church was built between 1901 and 1903, originally in a Neo-Gothic style. At that time, Krnov evangelical choir consisted of 700 members. The evangelical belief has a 500-year long tradition, preserving up to now, in Krnov region. A margrave Georg Hohenzollern, also called “Pious”, contributed the most to spread the faith throughout the Middle Ages. He was a great supporter of Luther´s doctrine. At the beginning of the 16th century, he bought Krnov principality from the Selenberk family. Approximately 100 m behind the church, a former evangelical rectory, built in 1907, is located (at present, the building serves as district police department). In 1986, the church became a national cultural monument.
